Dear Readers,
It's been a while and I want to apologize...I'm sorry for sitting on the sidelines for too long. I was afraid of letting you all down by posting something that lacked inspiration. But now I'm ready to get back to what I love doing. I'm sick and tired of sitting on the sidelines. God has been so good to me and there's no way I'm letting the devil steal those blessings from me. Not today, Satan! I want to encourage you: God wants more, and He has more for you, than sitting on the sidelines.
Sincerely,
Kendra
Maybe you've been on the sidelines for too long
Just sitting around, wasting time
You benched yourself from life
Had yourself a good old-fashioned pity party
When you could've been in the starting line-up
Could've won the game
Could've run the race
Instead, you're sitting on the sidelines
Your head hung low, no place to go
All because you settled for the sidelines
Child of God, let me remind you of this truth: God does not want you to sit on the sidelines. We are created for a higher purpose and when we begin to slide, people take notice. God takes notice. Whether you recognize it or not, the less time you spend in prayer & in the Word, the more you will doubt yourself and your faith. So maybe life has been hard. Stop dwelling on that fact. I don't mean to sound harsh, but sometimes I even have to tell myself...GET OVER IT. Life isn't a bed of roses and God didn't design us to never have trouble. Maybe you've been having yourself a grand old pity party and you feel like no one cares. People don't notice you on the sidelines when you bench yourself. When you park yourself in that position, it's hard for people to understand or know how to help.
I don't know much about sports, but I know that being benched in a game is never a good thing. It usually means you did something wrong or you threw the game. So if you're sitting on the sidelines, you're not at your best. In fact, you've shamed yourself and the team you're on by putting yourself in that position. Maybe it was an accident, but you're still there and you have a choice to make. You can have yourself a pity party and continue sitting there or you can apologize, change your actions, and move on. You can get up from the bench and get back out there. You can play harder, run faster, and give it your all. You make the choice to get up from the bench and move forward. No one else can make that decision for you. Are you getting comfortable on the sidelines?
I can almost guarantee you're not in God's will if you're still sitting on the sidelines, in the last place He left you. God is merciful, but He won't put up with your pity parties. He wants you to get up, run to Him, and admit what you've done wrong. He wants to see a change in you, but first you have to decide to get up from the sidelines. You've been sitting back and watching everyone else around you. You didn't feel qualified and you let yourself fall into a low place that you didn't think you could ever get out of. You made that decision to sit on the sidelines. God wants more for your life than the sidelines. He wants to anoint you and bless your life. But sometimes, you just have to GET OVER IT, pick yourself up, and get back in the game. A good coach or teacher will guide you through the steps to become better and that's exactly what God will do. Next thing you know, you could be in His starting line-up. There's so much work to be done on the field (The Kingdom of God). God doesn't want you to bench yourself. He needs you. This world needs you. Your life matters and what you have to offer the world matters. God wants you to be all in for Him. Don't settle for sitting on the sidelines when you were made to be on the field.
