Breathe in New Beginnings

I've already told you about myself, so now it's time for a moment of truth. Life is crazy, and sometimes it's hard to take time and enjoy the simple moments. One of the lessons I have learned in the last year is this: STOP and BREATHE. Do not allow the cares of life to steal your joy. It's the simple things in life that mean the most. It's so easy to run around, always taking the world and people for granted. Let's take a moment and try to imagine what the world was like before the craziness of working, appointments, school, etc. Imagine what the world looked like in the very beginning. There were no buildings, cars, no people on the face of the earth. Everything was clean and pure at the beginning. When God placed Adam and Eve in the garden, gradually the world's population began to grow, and it became corrupted. First of all, Adam and Eve sinned. That was only one type of corruption. Eventually, people thought up brilliant ideas like electricity, houses, skyscrapers, cars, and other "stuff" to fill the empty spaces (the void) on the earth. This is exactly what happens in a Christian's life. When you first get saved, God makes your heart clean and pure. Then, little by little, the devil brings distractions into your life that cause you to slip and corruption enters your heart. Suddenly, there is a void that needs to be filled so you try to do so by adding the temporary "stuff" of the world. Pretty soon, you're going to realize how far you've come from your beginning, and you'll have to make a decision. You can choose not to fill your heart with the things of the world. It's easy to get busy and lose your focus in life, but if you've taken a detour from your beginning, it's not too late to start over. Take time, enjoy life, and breathe in a new beginning.
